come with me, let’s visit the gorgeous art piece gallery

art piece gallery is the latest venture of well known cookery writer nadine abensur. last week i had the pleasure of meeting the gorgeous nadine, who has created such an inspirational space in mullumbimby.

with a passion for living with beautiful things everyday, nadine has created a beautifully curated collection. she has an extraordinary eye and pulls together such stunning, creative exhibitions. art piece gallery is most definitely “a focal point for artists and lovers of art, as well as national and international collectors”.

art piece is an inspiration to this gorgeous town, supporting and promoting the work of local artists, both those with an established reputation and those taking their first steps into the world of exhibiting.

a magic collaboration

i have been a long time lover of illustrator and pattern designer samantha hahn‘s art. i love her painterly pieces. so feminine and soft. sometimes fun and quirky. but they always make me feel good.

then samantha hahn and heather culp collaborated and something truly wonder-full happened.

I am absolutely loving this collaboration between samantha hahn and heather culp.

you can see more of heather’s amazing photography here and be sure to check out samantha on her blog, maquette.

beauty in imperfection

so often i wait. for the right time. the right moment. the right person… i wait because i want ‘it’ to be perfect {whatever ‘it’ is}… well i’m loosening my reigns. releasing my expectations. that is the plan anyway.

perfect is often overrated {right?}. sometimes i just need ‘real’… and to be able to see the beauty in imperfection.

i love perfect moments, but i can’t sustain them.  my life is real, and this is when the magic usually happens. my kids learn and create, usually this is messy. i have a tendency to collect pretty ‘things’ even though storage in our home is lacking. i spend more time hanging out playing cubbies and tea parties than i do scrubbing the bathroom. our chickens like to be part of the family and hang out on the verandah with us… this creates, ummm, more imperfection….

my life is not perfect. my life is messy. but that is ok, i love it the way it is.

loving ’365 lucky days’

i discovered the blog ’365 lucky days‘ by lucky jackson… via the lovely kate of advo.kate.

365 days of creative expression. making something everyday.

these 3 pieces are from lucky’s “grab your mask and cape and let’s be heroes” week. lucky creates one piece of work daily, inspired by her life and life around her.

i think this one; ‘day 18: the weekend’ is my absolute fave.

these make me want to run for my sewing machine, dust her off and start creating works of loveliness…

happy wednesday, enjoy!
