hello weekend…

things we love

fortysixthatgrace

this weekend holds so much hope and possibility.

:: baking with miss s

:: cups of chai (hopefully accompanying something freshly baked) and some unread magazines to peruse

:: some mind mapping of a new project in the wings

:: chatting with my boy on the phone. probably about his newest passion: archery. he really is one of the most beautiful boys i know

:: collecting caterpillars that are eating our broccoli and kale. i collect them ever-so-gently and put them in a container. miss s then takes them back home and feeds them daily; watching with joy as they grow so quickly. (yesterday we collected over 130)

:: watching a dvd with my love

:: and the knowledge that there is only one more week until school holidays begin

:: i plan to lose myself in the things i love; and hopefully find myself there too

what do you have planned?

hope your weekend is all you want it to be

happy {long} weekend

this morning i awoke to grey skies, a brilliant orange sunrise and an autumnal freshness in the air. *inhale*

happy weekend

*exhale* there is something so glorious about long weekends. a chance to really relax into some beautiful moments. with some busyness and some quietness already planned, it is the quietness that i am really craving. i hope this weekend will be filled with family, friends, tea, slow breakfasts, time in nature and learning something new to crochet.

long weekend

on sunday a dear friend (from high school) and her family are coming to visit. we haven’t seen each other for 18 months. yesterday when we spoke, she told me that she reads my blog… i was so touched. ali, my dear, dear friend thank-you! and i am excited to sit with you and drink tea (btw i should/could be cleaning; but i’m not)….

happy weekend lovelies

do more of what you love

happy new year

we are back home after 3 weeks away. it was busy, wonderful and family-filled. lots of family meals, eating, reading and relaxing. shell collecting, swimming and afternoons drinking cold cider. i am so grateful to all those who let us stay and fed us glorious meals.

most of the time i had no internet connection (struggling at times to get enough reception to post a pic on instagram), and it was liberating, freeing. i had time to ponder over my hopes and dreams for this new year…

:: i’m wanting to simplify and get back to basics this year (a cliche, i know).

:: i want our garden to be producing more of our vegies, that means injecting time and energy into planting, weeding, watering…

:: i would love an organised pantry, that will require cabinets and shelving to be built.

:: i want to bake my own bread and goodies (and i have just started making my own kombucha).

:: i want to sew some clothes for myself and miss s (beginning with a basic tunic: emphasis on the word basic *smile*)

:: i want to learn to love cooking…. and enjoy cooking simple, tasy, nutitious meals for my family.

i hope you all had a great holiday, and that 2013 will be wonderful!

i’ll be scarce in blog land until the end of january. i’m revelling in having both kids at home and enjoying the everyday with them.

much love xx
